Founded in 2004 by Bill Shaffer, the company has been owned since 2014 by Thomas Kuhlmann.
Thomas’s Management & Industrial Operations background, his passion for design, gardening and excellence plus his intimate involvement in the daily work, creates the unique character of Shaffer Landscaping.
We prefer to be the one-stop solution for all of our customers landscape needs: We design, we install and we maintain the landscape, including all aspects of turf care, plant health care as well as repair of irrigation systems, repair of landscape lights, needed tree work, pine straw and hardwood mulch.
Shaffer Landscaping’s business has been expanding consistently mainly due to customer referrals. Based at 805 Harmony Road in Eatonton, we serve the Lake Oconee communities.

Each customer design starts from scratch, making each project unique and not a copy-paste solution.
In any project we focus on getting the fundamentals right for the long term, from grading, drainage, retaining walls, irrigation systems to quality materials.
Based on a solid foundation we add a customer specific selection of trees, shrubs, perennial & annual flowers, turf, patios, walkways, steps, cart path, fire places, fire pits, hammock areas, water falls, ponds, outdoor lights to create unique outdoor living spaces.
Only those plants and sod types will be offered that have the potential to thrive long term at the customer location.
We choose from all suitable plants grown by a wide variety of nurseries to find healthy plants that provide color and texture the entire year. Once selected, proper placement of the plant material in the landscape will allow for a healthy maturation

Thomas Kuhlmann has a MS degree in mechanical engineering and business administration from the Technical University of Berlin in his native Germany.
In 2014, after more than 20 years in the Automotive Industry in various general management and operations functions, it was time to manage his own business and make the passion for design and gardening his profession.
